Sunday Dhamma School

In 2020, the Hudson Valley Buddhist Vihara community organized a Sunday Dhamma School at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Poughkeepsie. This program provided an opportunity for children in our community to learn the teachings of the Buddha and develop an understanding of Buddhist values, traditions, and culture.

The Dhamma School was conducted by Venerable Debokkawe Pangnasiri, who guided the children through age-appropriate teachings and activities rooted in the Buddha’s Dhamma.

A total of 10 children participated in the program, making this gathering a meaningful milestone in the development of our Buddhist community and its efforts to nurture the next generation.

We remain deeply grateful to the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Poughkeepsie for providing a welcoming space where our community could gather and continue its religious and educational activities.
