Dhamma School

“අපදාන සෝභිනී පඤ්ඤා”
“Wisdom shines through good character.”
On December 2, 2018, the Dhamma School children of the Hudson Valley Buddhist Vihara and Meditation Center participated in Buddha Puja and meditation before beginning their classes.
At that time, as we did not yet have our own Vihara premises, our Dhamma activities were held at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Poughkeepsie.
Our purpose was not merely to impart knowledge, but to cultivate discipline, mindfulness, compassion, and wholesome character alongside education. Through this harmonious approach, we aspired to guide our children to become responsible and compassionate citizens of the world, enriched with both knowledge and good character.
